CPR (Construction Products Regulation) is a European regulatory standard that establishes requirements for fire safety of construction materials, including cables. CPR cables differ by fire safety class, which is determined by fire resistance indicators.

The fire safety class of CPR cables is divided into 7 categories:

  1. Class B2: cables with limited fire resistance that emit a lot of smoke and ash.
  2. Class Cca: cables with improved fire resistance, which are characterized by low fire hazard and low smoke and ash indicators.
  3. Class Cca s1a d1: cables with improved fire resistance, which have high fire resistance indicators, low fire hazard, low smoke and ash indicators, and also meet safety standards for accidental contact with electricity.
  4. Class B1: cables with reduced fire hazard and moderate smoke and ash indicators.
  5. Class B2ca: cables with limited fire resistance, which have indicators similar to Cca class cables.
  6. Class B1ca: cables with reduced fire hazard and indicators similar to Cca class cables.
  7. Class Aca: cables with high fire resistance, which have the lowest fire hazard, smoke, and ash indicators.
